Not long ago, I worked on a project with a client I’ll call Steve. Steve needed help with a newly purchased music school business that empowers kids age 2-15 with music lessons. He had no music experience, but was excited to see the business flourish. He wanted to provide the best education they could and make the business profitable.
Steve called looking for help on how best to reach more parents that wanted their kids to learn music. We talked about his goals and what he hoped to accomplish, and what he was doing offline that would get him found online. He needed to find a way to communicate with parents and let them get to know the school, the teachers, and ultimately, build trust.
My team created an intuitive user experience that made it easy to get questions answered and find out more about the teachers and the locations. We used social media to build excitement before events. After events, parents loved seeing their kids online as part of the concert. Our regular newsletter kept current and prospective parents up to date on new teachers and new instruments. We even launched a third location.
Right at 12 months, we celebrated a 100% increase in revenue. A more engaging customer experience, an awesome social presence, and well placed online ads had doubled his school in one year. On track to double the next year. A world-class music school.
